GTA Online Player-Created Throwback Jobs: The Warriors Anniversary Special

Can you count, suckers? This fall season marks 10 years since the release of The Warriors on PlayStation 2 and Xbox. All you boppers who want to pay tribute to the Warriors' mad dash for Coney, we've been digging through Social Club for GTA Online Jobs inspired by the game and collected a gang of Team Deathmatches, Last Team Standings and Captures for all you street people with an ear for the action. If you can dig it, bookmark these jobs on Social Club and try not to get wrecked The Warriors 2014 by CBudda-Money (PS3) "Present Day Coney Island. You are the new day Warriors. Do you have what it takes to survive this showdown?" Leader of the ColdHeartSaintsMafia, CBudda-Money, sets this TDM in "present day Coney Island" at Lake Vinewood Estates. With artillery ranging from AP Pistols and Sticky Bombs to Miniguns and Heavy Sniper rifles, there is something for everyone on this map. Spawn points are spread throughout the board so keep your eyes peeled and make sure to properly cover your Team lest you meet a sticky(bomb) end. The Warriors did it... by sylverskye (Xbox 360 & Xbox One) "Fight your way around the city along the rails to get home to the pier." This four-team Capture created by the Leader of the Elite Gamers Club is set throughout the city of Los Santos. All Teams must gather and deliver their packages to their home base on Del Perro Pier. Proceed with caution, however, as this match allows for you to gather multiple packages before heading to your home base – if you are killed before making it to the pier, your enemy can gather up spoils and deliver them for the win. Find the lone RPG and make your way for the bridge to annihilate the opposing Team in "The Warriors Bus Scene" The Warriors Bus Scene by CRIMECOMMANDO (PC & Xbox 360)"In this recreation of a famous scene from The Warriors, the Turnbull ACs try to steal The Warriors' spray paint and deliver back to their hangout. The Warriors try to stop them but a battered Prison Bus stands in their way." Commissioner of the I Kill For Green Crew, CRIMECOMMANDO, lays this Capture on the straightaway of Little Bighorn Ave to mimic driving the Turnbull AC’s bus back and forth in the The Warriors videogame's mission ‘Desperate Dudes.’ Grab up the few Pistols scattered about the map and make your way to the other Team’s base to steal the spray paint. If you're more of a camper than fighter, there's an RPG hidden on the map near the bridge (which makes for a great vantage point to blow up the opposing Team’s Bus). THE WARRIORS transit by True-Killa-666 (PS3 & PS4) "Picture perfect Deathmatch in a subway straight from the movie scene itself" Appropriately set in the LSIA Parking Station in Los Santos International Airport, this TDM created by a Lieutenant of the Meads Familia Crew makes you feel like you are fighting it out in the NYC subways. Each team starts on a separate platform before meeting each other in the narrow corridor between. Sticky Bombs are your friend on this map as the corridor is prime real-estate for a strategically placed explosive. The Warriors by TheANDALUZ (Xbox 360 & Xbox One) "Homenaje a la pelicula y juego The warriors" Translation: Tribute to the film and game of ‘The Warriors’ This Warriors tribute TDM created by the Leader of the DistrisctAndaluz Crew allows for some serious melee combat. Make a mad dash for the Knives - the best Damage/Speed combo to make quick work of your enemies as you duke it out near Vespucci Beach. Square off and join the melee mayhem in FeHaden's "The Warriors, Gang Brawl" The Warriors, Gang Brawl by FeHaden (PC) "Its sometime in the future and the gangs run the streets now. Fight for the pier and take what is yours! CAN YOU DIG IT?!!" VALcrew member FeHaden has created only one job on PC, but it's a killer gang brawl TDM set at Del Perro Pier to mimic the iconic Coney Island home of The Warriors. Fill this one up to the 20 player limit and watch the melee mayhem unfold as you defeat your foes with Knives, Crowbars, Baseball Bats, Golf Clubs and Nightsticks. THE WARRIORS LS CHAPTER by oktellmemyname (PS3 & PS4) Leader of The Society We Trust Crew, oktellmemyname, has clearly put some thought into this Warriors-inspired Team Deathmatch. Del Perro Pier's plethora of cover options require teams to strategically plan their attack - runners 'n' gunners may be picked off pretty quick. Head for higher ground in order to more easily attack those taking cover, but be warned that once you've been spotted, there's nowhere to hide.  The Warriors: ending by crayzesteve (Xbox 360 & Xbox One) "After a long trek to the Bronx, you and your crew are glad to be home...only to be hunted by an unwelcoming outfit. Settle the score and put the night behind you. Large scale hand to hand LTS, strut to the fight like gentlemen and back up your pals. Only dirty Luthers pick up the gun. Hardcore Swans pick up the knife." Crayzesteve has recreated The Warriors videogame's final mission ‘Come Out To Play’ as an LTS on the beach east of Del Perro Pier. As Steve says in the description - if you’re a true Warrior like Swan, you’ll go for the Knives – if you’re a ‘dirty Luther’ head for the Pistol at the center of the map. The Warriors by Tetrahedron999 (PC) "(clink, clink, clink) Warriors, come out to play. Warriors, come out to play-ay!" In a similar vein to FeHaden's awesome The Warriors, Gang Brawl TDM above, this LTS by Tetrahedron999 finds itself on the familiar boardwalk of Del Perro Pier. You and your team must scramble to one of the scarce spread out weapons. Teams spawning closer to the north side of the pier have a slight advantage as they are closer to the Micro SMG, so players spawning to the south should focus on taking cover and making their way to the Assault Rifles, AP Pistols and Armor located on the west side of the Pier. And to help you get in the nostalgic The Warriors x GTA Online mashup mood, make sure to check out this awesome Warriors tribute video done by our friends over at GTA Series Videos a few months back. This homage to the cult classic took a whopping three weeks to record and edit more than ten hours of raw footage. It also featured a number of dedicated Crews, twelve maps, ten characters and involved more than 40 players including familiar faces from the GTA community scene PrE233, Gtamen, Yan2295 and many more. Check It Out: The Warriors Reunion in Coney Island this Sunday September 13th

Attention all you boppers. The Warriors are back in the city and headed to CI, the big Coney. This coming Sunday September 13th, many of the film's original cast members will be reuniting at the Surf Pavilion for The Warriors Coney Island Festival in what they're dubbing the "Last Subway Ride Reunion Tour".  Hosted by singer John Joseph of the Cro-Mags (you may have heard their work on Liberty City Hardcore), the day will feature everything from meet-and-greets with the original cast (including many of The Warriors themselves as well as actors who portrayed memorable members of rival gangs like the Orphans and Baseball Furies), live music from bands including Sick of It All (another LCHC alumni), a costume contest and a film screening right there on the gang's turf. Doors open at 10 A.M. and tickets are available for purchase here. If you’re as big a fan of this cult classic as we are and you’re in the NYC area, it sounds like one not to miss. This fall also marks the 10th Anniversary of our own 2005 videogame adaptation of The Warriors - so for those of you who can't make that long journey to BK, feel free to get nostalgic by sharing your best Warrior-themed GTA Online Jobs for others to play. We’ll be looking to feature them next month in a special edition Throwback Jobs post alongside homages to 2005’s Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories as well. Fan Pics: The iFruit L.A. Photo Project by GTAist, Unbelievable Action GIFs and More

In this week's roundup of excellent bits of GTAV and Rockstar fandom, check out an amazing L.A. vs L.S. iFruit photo project by GTAist, some pretty unbelievable action GIFs that  have been making the rounds on Reddit - as well as the latest masterpieces by GTA fandom illustrators of renown. Thanks of course to everyone who has sent their work for us to check out - please keep them coming via Mouthoff, and be sure to follow us on Twitter, where we often share great fan creations on the regular. "What do you do when you live in Los Angeles (a city based on the latest Grand Theft Auto game), have a camera, and a few mornings/evenings of free time?" GTAist answers his own question with this remarkable gallery of interactive comparisons that showcase game vs. reality. Dedicated GTA fan and Snapmatic photographer extraordinaire @DaniCallux tweeted out the finished version of her custom-made GTAV sneaks. Ready-made to stomp out on the streets of Los Santos.  Above are two awesome action gifs that we found on the Grand Theft Auto V subreddit. On the left, Thenamenononehas has GIF'd up an epic chase-sequence hole-in-one. For a bit of behind-the-scenes, check out the original video, and even one from the perspective of the guy getting hit. To the right, _Griggs_ posted this explosive GIF'd footage showing off his fearlessness in taking down an oncoming chopper.  In contrast, Parabellum used SA96HD's 'The Beauty of Blaine County' video to create these pastoral and peaceful nature GIFs. Redditor KathyArt21 shared this awesome Trevor papercraft figurine she created for a college project. For anyone who'd like to fashion one for yourself, she helpfully shares the template files as well.   The talented OneRandomDolly hosts live art streams every Monday on her Twitch channel including this recent creation which was drawn live on air of her owl-masked GTA Online character she calls 'Neigh Neigh'.   Dutch artist Beltegoed sent over this strikingly stylized "360 Panoramic Night Image" of the 'world' of Los Santos via Mouthoff. Veteran fandom illustrator Julia Scott is truly one of the greats and her latest work over at the ID & EGO tumblr continues with fan-fic inspired depictions of Michael and Trevor's imagined North Yankton days in her signature style. Another fandom artist stalwart, Amanda of loseranthems.tumblr, imagines what Trevor must be getting up to in these winter months: bunkering down with plenty o' Piswasser.  A pair of the latest and greatest from DeviantARTist Krbllov: on the left, a stark line drawing depicting how a meeting between Niko, Luis and Trevor might go down; on the right, an awesomely detailed illustration of Krbllov's excitement for GTAV's forthcoming release on PC. Longo Aurelien sent us this great tribute to The Warriors via Mouthoff: "I’m a young artist from Belgium and I am a big fan of your games, but I'm especially in love with 'The Warriors'! The game of my life! So I mix my two passions to make a masterpiece (I hope..)! A big illustration inspired from the game and also the movie (Discovered after playing your amazing game)." Make sure to check out the video to see some great close ups of this fantastic piece of art that took 150 hours to create. Maxifen's original 3D painting of Trevor taunting Chop is worthy of close inspection to appreciate all the fantastic details. Head over to his deviantART page to see the piece in high-res. Ruubzway drew this tribute for requester Space-Kabob - honoring original Townley-Philips criminal associate "Rad" Brad Snider.   Previously:Snapmatic Panoramas and MoreFestive Finery, GIF Wrapped Goodies and MoreHalloween at Bullworth, Masterwork Miniatures, GTA Tats and More

35th Anniversary of The Warriors: Check Out the GTA Online Fan-Made Warriors Inspired Playlist

With this year marking the 35th anniversary of The Warriors' original 1979 theatrical release, we've been seeing quite a bit of great nostalgia for the cult classic film that inspired our own 2005 videogame adaptation - everything from the first annual WarriorFest fan celebration, to retrospectives on some of the film's most iconic characters, to a commemorative, limited release of its soundtrack featuring memorable songs from Joe Walsh and Arnold McCuller alongside Barry DeVorzon's mesmerizing score.   One nod to The Warriors that especially caught our eye recently is a special Playlist of original GTA Online Jobs created by Warriors fan Rayon Coleman aka rayon87 from the XB360 Creators Core Crew which scouted out the world of GTA Online to find perfect locations and times of day to fashion three Deathmatches that emulate classic scenes from the movie and game. Check out the Jobs: The Warriors Park Scene Appropriately set during the dreary dead of night in a baseball diamond east of La Puerta (as opposed to Riverside Park), combatants gather at opposing ends of the field and then charge to the middle to bop it out with melee weapons. Baseball bats may seem like the favored choice for individuals looking to release their inner fury but know that there are a few knives scattered about to effectively get the edge on your competition. The Warriors Subway Scene Take the fight underground near Rockford Hills. It'll probably be a good while until the F Train to Coney arrives, so you have time to slug it out with a myriad assortment of blunt objects at your disposal to settle territorial disputes. There may not be much in the way of health packs or Flash laying around to get your head right but there is a serviceable e-Cola machine on one end of the platform for your convenience. The Warriors Final Scene Daybreak - Warriors and Rogues gather under the Del Perro Pier on the beach to settle the score once and for all. Things can get hectic and crowded under the landing and you may find yourself hitting more dock supports than enemies as you swing away like a madman in close quarters. Take your rivals "out on the sand" to gain a better perspective on who's coming directly at you.

Rockstar Game Tips: Get Good, Real Good, at The Warriors

A real live bunch they may be, but getting The Warriors back to Coney is no cakewalk, not with 60,000 Flashed-up street soldiers baying for retribution. Here are our tips to surviving the night - and remember that The Warriors is now available to download from PlayStation Store as part of the PS2 Classics collection.   Stay tuned, Boppers: Pay close attention to the tutorial at the start of the game, as this will teach you the combat basics that will get you through the tougher stages later on. If you do forget anything, head to Controls > Tutorial from the Start menu.   The Chicks are packed: Many of the objects littering the streets - bottles, trashcans, wrenches etc. - can be used as weapons. Generally, these weapons inflict more damage than a single hit, but you do lose the ability to string together combos and to defend yourself from the rear and side. In the frenzy of a mass brawl, you may find it better to rely on the weapons you were born with.   Hit everything in sight: Rage Mode can be the difference between a pretty face and a smashed one. Attacks are more powerful with Rage and you are immune to damage for its duration. All basic attacks fill your Rage meter somewhat, but some do more than others. Check the Style Points table below to see which actions really get the blood boiling.   Real tough: Some boss enemies have powerful melee attacks. In a one-on-one, keep your distance and throw any weapons you find at them. Not only will this wear them down, it will fill your Rage meter. When it's full, get up close and wreck their punk ass.   Who are The Warriors?: Know your allies - each member has different physical attributes and skills, and playing these to your advantage may be the edge you need to beat a difficult mission.   I want them all: Whichever character you're controlling, the rest of The Warriors have your back, so use the Commands to your advantage. If a rival gang has one particularly strong soldier (maybe they're carrying a weapon), then lock onto them and issue the 'Wreck 'Em All' Command to have them battered before you've even thrown a punch. If you're short on time and cash, shout 'Mayhem' in a store to have it emptied quicker than a Flash dealer's overcoat.   Come out to play: Coney Bonus Missions are timed challenges that are gradually unlocked as you play through the game's Story Mode. To find them, exit the Warriors Hangout and look for the purple mission icons on your radar. Complete these as soon as they become available, as the rewards will help you in the more difficult later stages.   Can you count, suckas?: There are many unlockables to discover throughout the game, some of which require you to beat the high score set for each level. To do this, you'll want to master Style Points: bonuses granted for specific actions during gameplay. Here's the breakdown of which actions yield the most Style Points:   table tr td { border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; } Action Style Points Smash small item (box, garbage can, bus bench etc.) 5 Smash car part (window, door, hood, trunk, fender) 10 Pick a lock 10 Handcuff an opponent 30 Smash storefront or phone booth window 50 Toss an enemy into a wall 60 (also builds Rage) Smash counter 75 (also builds Rage) Smash a bottle over an opponent 75 (also builds Rage) Tandem attack 100 (also builds Rage) Smash in-store display case 100 Steal car radio 100 Toss an enemy through a window 100 Stealth kill 100 (also builds Rage) Toss an enemy from a rooftop 150 Toss an enemy into a car 150 Smash an ememy's face into a wall 150 (also builds Rage) Steal a hat from a rival gang 150 Steal a hat from a cop 200 Complete a tag without having to restart 1000 Pick a lock without setting off the alarm 1000   I'm sick of runnin': If you or one of your numbers commits a crime, don't expect the police to let it slide. If they're on your tail, then you have three options: fight (and good luck against the armed officers), run away or hide in the shadows. If you decide to flee, cut corners and take to the rooftops whenever possible. Cops can climb, but they're not agile as The Warriors, so use this to your advantage.   Lookin' good, Warriors: Inside the Warriors Hangout you'll find an exercise area. Complete workouts at all four stations to boost your equipped Warrior's fitness level by one. Levels five and 10 each give a helpful boost in Stamina, allowing you to sprint for longer and pull off power moves and combos with ease.   You see what you get?:  Throw a buck to those in need once in a while. You never know who might have your back later on, or point you in the right direction...   Abide by these streetwise pearls and you should be back in Coney safe and sound. If you need help with a specific mission, hit us up in the comments or via Mouthoff.
