Before you can access any Rockstar Games Social Club data related to games that you are playing, you must link your game console with the Social Club. Please follow the process below:

ALLOWING YOUR SOCIAL CLUB ACCOUNT TO RETRIEVE GAMES FOR WINDOWS-LIVE DATA
(NO XBOX 360 GAMETAG ASSOCIATED WITH ACCOUNT)

1. Locate your Windows Live ID that is associated with your LIVE Gamertag. If you do not already have a Gamertag or a Windows LIVE ID, please click below for more help.

2. Locate your Windows LIVE ID password.

3. Make sure that you are logged out of Windows LIVE Services.

4. Use the Windows LIVE ID service so we can link your Rockstar Games Social Club account to your Gamertag and start retrieving Games for Windows-LIVE data. You will sign in using a page that looks like the image below and be prompted to login with your Windows LIVE ID and password.

After signing in with your Windows LIVE ID, you will be returned to the Rockstar Games Social Club and you should see your Gamertag displayed in the space marked Games for Windows-LIVE.

ALREADY HAVE AN XBOX 360 GAMERTAG LINKED TO THE SOCIAL CLUB? (HOW TO LINK YOUR GAMES FOR
WINDOWS-LIVE GAMERTAG TO THE SOCIAL CLUB)

1. When you click the “ADD” link from the ACCOUNT LINKING screen on the Social Club, you will be presented with two options. If your Gamertags are the same on your Xbox 360 and Games for Windows-LIVE PC then you can choose to copy your details over. If you have a completely different Gamertag than the one that is currently associated with your Xbox 360, then you will go through the account linking process outlined above, after which, you should see two separate Gamertags associated with your account.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

&The current implementation of LIVE account linking services does not always provide the Rockstar Games Social Club with the most up-to-date list of your LIVE friends. After adding new friends on LIVE, you may have to go through the linking process again to refresh your Friends List.

Locating the Windows LIVE ID associated with your Gamertag

Your email address that you used to sign up for Games for Windows LIVE is your LIVE ID. If you have forgotten what email you used to sign up when playing Grand Theft Auto IV you can press the “HOME” button on your keyboard to bring up the Games for Windows-LIVE Guide. Once in the Guide you can hit enter on your Gamertag and then scroll down to Account Management (this will take you to a browser outside the game). The email address pre-filled for account management will be the email address for your account.

Make sure you know your Windows Live ID password

a.	Please skip this step if you already know your “Windows Live ID” password.
b.	If you cannot remember the password to your “Windows Live ID” please visit this page and reset it by following the on screen instructions.

Checking to make sure you are logged out of Windows LIVE Services

a.	Use http://account.live.com to make sure that you are currently signed out of your “Windows Live ID.” You cannot link your account if you are currently signed in.
b.	If you see an account summary page when you click the link, then you are currently logged in. Please, make sure to click the sign out link in the uppermost right hand corner.
c.	When completely signed out of your “Windows Live ID” you should be looking at the Live ID sign in page. You are now ready to begin linking your account.

Receive an “unknown error” when trying to link Windows LIVE Gamertag

If for any reason during the account linking process you receive an unknown error, this generally means that you are not logged into the Social Club when trying to link an account. When this happens, clear your browser cache and cookies [link for how to do this in IE and Firefox] and then close your browser. Open a new browser session and log in to the Social Club, proceed to the ACCOUNT LINKING page. If you continue to have problems please contact support.
